RoCA is known for shared plates and cocktails
Have you been to RōCA in Des Moines?
RoCA stands for Restaurant on Court Avenue. It’s home to craft cocktails, shared plates, and stellar service. The menu is stacked with tons of unique features – which can make it challenging to order because you’ll want to try so many things. Here are a few photos and highlights of our night at RoCA. Our visit was hosted by RoCA through DSM Hummingbirds, but our selections and opinions are our own.
RoCA is located at 208 Court Ave in Des Moines, Iowa.
We started off with a couple of cocktails – the Horseshoes & Hand-Grenades (on the left, made with Vodka, Cointreau, Strawberry Lime, Grapefruit, and Basil) and Float Like a Butterfly (on the right made with Gin, St. Germaine, Lemon, Honey, and Creme de Violette). They have quite the drink selection and it’ll take you a few minutes to narrow down your picks.
Steak De Burgo Toast – I probably wouldn’t have picked this shared plate if it wasn’t for our server Ricky. And I would have missed out on this, as it was fantastic. Steak tips with mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and a killer sauce on freshly toasted focaccia.
Root Beer-Braised Pork Sliders – made with CABco Root Beer and Crispy Onions. Another winner.
We also loved the service at RōCA. Not only did our server guide us through the options, but we also saw him helping a table of four women. Apparently did such a great job selecting drinks that they basically told him to go ahead and place food orders for them and it turns out they loved his food selections as well!
We topped the night off with a Key Lime Martini from their after-dinner drink list which includes additional cocktails, wines, and even shots.
Salted Caramel Brownies with white chocolate, whip cream, and pretzels, all drizzled in caramel.
