It’s time for Gluhwein! along with brats, strudel, and more German food! For 2025, Christkindlmarket Des Moines is expanding to cover two weekends instead of one.
Hours for 2025 are:
December 4: 5pm – 9pm
December 5: 11am – 9pm
December 6: 11am – 9pm
December 7: 11am – 5pm
December 11: 5pm – 9pm
December 12: 11am – 9pm
December 13: 11am – 9pm
December 14: 11am – 5pm

For the past few years, downtown Des Moines has hosted a Christkindlmarket Des Moines – a German Christmas Market with old German traditions including food, shopping, and music. Admission and parking are FREE!
Although the market has daytime hours, we have always enjoyed visiting during the evening as we love how the vendor booths are lit up and the entire atmosphere changes.
There’s a number of vendors – everything including greeting cards, woodworking, and lots of holiday decorations/gifts. Visit their website for a full list of vendors.
