Palmer’s Olde Tyme Candy Shoppe in Sioux City


In 1923 they created the Bing candy bar. At the time, candy bars were a new concept sweeping the nation. Bings originally came in four flavors; maple, vanilla, pineapple, and cherry.

Today, the Cherry Bing is still produced by hand and remains a Midwest regional favorite!

Palmer’s has a wide variety of candies and fudge.

Palmer’s is a family-run business, they have been making candy since 1878. It all started when their family home was destroyed by a fire in St. Joseph, Michigan. Instead of rebuilding, they moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Initially, they sold wholesale fruit. Around 1900 they added candy to the list of products. By 1969, they stopped their fruit sales to solely focus on candy.
