The metal man and his tractor of the Loess Hills
As I’m driving down a gravel road through the Loess Hills of Plymouth County, I ran across this metal person driving his tractor and plow. Thanks to Donald Williams who added to our comments… ” My father Paul Williams of Merrill, Iowa made the “cowboy” .. 30 some years ago from old scoop shovels and scrap metal.”
It’s located at 15333 N Ridge Rd, Westfield, Iowa.
It’s located on private property, but easily viewable from the road. The metal person is actually standing, not sitting, while they drive their John Deere tractor. In fact, the tractor is missing one of its tires.
When I stopped, it was also decorated with colored Christmas lights.

Thank you for sharing Donald. I’ll edit the story and make sure that your father is listed as the creator, thanks again for taking the time to help us update the information! Brian Abeling / Iowa Road Trip
