Wolf Creek Swing Bridge
Swing bridges are an item of personal interest for me – I’ve been working on a list of swing bridges around the state, hoping to build a comprehensive list.

While traveling to Immaculate Conception Church and Matchstick Marvels, I found that there was a nearby bridge at Wolf Creek Recreation Area near Beaman, Iowa. It was only a couple of miles off my path, so I went to check it out.
How does Wolf Creek bridge compare to other swing bridges?
For me, a swing bridge can be either adventurous or sturdy. Wolf Creek seems to fit in the middle of this track, as there are bridges that are really sturdy (like some that don’t really have much movement) and others (Estherville and Columbus Junction) that have a lot of movement and swing.
