Where were you when the derecho hit?
Three years ago today, one of the craziest storms hit Iowa – the Derecho of August 10th, 2020. As if 2020 wasn’t already weird enough.
I was at work, in my office, in West Des Moines, and here’s what the view looked like as the derecho rolled in. It’s a timelapse video that was taken with my iPhone sitting on the window sill as the storm came to town.

After the storm hit, I had a chance to travel north on Highway 17, and are some photos from the area between Madrid and Luther, Iowa.
