Now that’s a Cracker Jack!
In 1896, after making a batch of molasses-coated popcorn, one of the initial reactions was, “That’s a cracker jack!” And that was the start of Cracker Jack.
However, did you know that most of the popcorn for Cracker Jacks came from Odebolt, Iowa? In 1918, Cracker Jack acquired an elevator and six cribs. The cribs were used until 1984 and two of the cribs are still standing (barely). Odebolt has decorated the side of one of the cribs with some of the Sac County Barn Quilt Designs that you will see throughout the county.
Where are they located? At the intersection of Hwy 175 and 39 (Google map location)
